No, we will not be serving this recipe for rum punch in a garbage can like they do at frat parties and on sunset cruises in Jamaica, but we will be enjoying this cocktail for many years to come, most likely from a crystal punch bowl!
We like a rum punch recipe that can be prepared in advance and this one works beautifully. If you are strapped for time, prepare it days, even weeks, in advance and it's just as good as it was on the day you made it.
Place sugar in large bowl, pour hot tea over it and stir until dissolved. Add the lemon juice, peach brandy, rum and boubon, mix well and refrigerate. Just before serving, transfer the mixture to a punch bowl and add the club soda.
Wouldn't this rum punch recipe look great with an ice ring floating in it?
Pour 1-2 cups of the juice mixture from above into a Bundt pan or another mold. Add some fruit and/or fresh citrus slices. Freeze overnight.
Just before serving, set the pan into some hot water to loosen the ice ring and then turn it into the punch bowl. It makes a really beautiful presentation, cools the punch and since it's made with juice, it will not water down your punch. Perfect!
