Garlicky Beef Broth Fondue
- 4 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cans beef consommé
- 1/2 cup chili sauce
- 1 cup water
- 3 beef bouillon cubes
- Dash of Worcestershire
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- 1 cup red wine
- Raw dippers like thinly sliced beef, tail-on shrimp, scallops, portabellos and chicken
Saute onions and garlic in butter. Add all other ingredients and simmer 1/2 hour. Add 1 cup red wine.
Pour mixture into a fondue pot and when you are ready to eat, bring the broth mixture to a gentle boil. Spear meat with a fondue fork and leave in heated broth until cooked as desired.
