Jarred Pasta Sauce Super Bowl Recipes

Have you heard about the new Food Network Magazine? I recently subscribed to it after a friend recommended it to me and I absolutely love it.

In addition to all of the beautifully displayed recipes, one of the most useful things about this new magazine is that there is a Recipe Index in the front of each issue.

What's unusual about this recipe index is that there are little thumbnail pictures of each prepared recipe and they are arranged by categories, like "Appetizers and Snacks." This makes it so easy to reference old magazines and easily find favorite recipes. What a great idea!

I just thumbed through the January issue and inside was a pull out booklet entitled "50 Things To Make With A Jar Of Pasta Sauce."

That caught my eye right away because I am ALWAYS looking for easy recipes and I almost always have jars of pasta sauce in my pantry as do most people.

Here are a couple Easy Party Recipes that would be perfect for your Super Bowl Party:

  • Zesty Chip Dip--Combine equal parts sour cream and pasta sauce in a bowl; stir in grated parmesan cheese, ground pepper and oregano.
  • Baked Brie--Slice the top rind off a small wheel of Brie cheese. Cover lightly with pasta sauce and seasoned breadcrumbs. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes; sprinkle with fresh herbs.
  • Pizza Sticks--Brush refrigerated breadstick dough with pasta sauce; sprinkle with parmesan cheese and bake. Serve with extra sauce.
  • Bloody Marys--Mix 6 oz. vodka, 1 cup pasta sauce, 1/2 cup water, 6 tablespoons lime juice and 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish in a pitcher. Season with celery salt, Worcestershire and hot sauce.
